William Clavell Ingram

The Very Rev William Clavell Ingram DD was the Dean of Peterborough in the Church of England from 1893 until his death in 1901.[1]

Born on 11 August 1834 and educated at Jesus College, Cambridge,[2][3] he was a Master at Lancing College[4] then a Chaplain to HM Forces[5] before being appointed Vicar of Kirk Michael.[6] From 1874 he was Vicar of St Matthew’s, Leicester[7] before his elevation to the Deanery. He died on 26 April 1901 and three years later a memorial to him was put in place at Peterborough Cathedral.[8]
